MONTEREY, Calif. (September 28, 2023) ― Returning for the first time since 2018, the Rennsport Reunion opened its doors today – welcoming the first of an expected audience of over 80,000 enthusiasts to four days of motorsport, exhibitions, and US and global debuts of new cars as 75 years of Porsche sports cars and 60 years of the 911 are celebrated.
The action on track was relentless as cars spanning six decades took part in the first qualifying, exhibition and practice sessions. Meanwhile, visitors had their first chance to experience the sheer scale of the seventh running of the Rennsport Reunion – with dozens of new displays and exhibitions, along with curated talks on the main stage overseeing the central feature of Rennsport, called the “Park in the Paddock” where people can congregate and relax.
“This is by far the biggest Reunion yet, and it looks just wonderful. Its soul and its purpose is just how it was envisioned back when it all began, but it’s the number of different exhibits and opportunities that’s so impressive. You need days to take it all in!” Hurley will return to the track in the coming days, driving a Porsche 917/10 to perform exhibition laps.
