Gooding & Company was honored to be the recipient of the inaugural Rétromobile Preservation Award for 2024, awarded to the exceptionally preserved and historic 1903 Mercedes-Simplex 60 HP ‘Roi des Belges.’ After a rigorous judging process, the star car of Gooding & Company’s upcoming Auctions was awarded with the Preservation Trophy on the evening of Wednesday, January 31st, accepted by celebrated auctioneer Charlie Ross. Rétromobile Show Director Romain Grabowski joined the celebratory proceedings, delivering a speech commemorating the unquestionable importance and legacy of this special car. 

Gooding & Company looks forward to presenting the 1903 Mercedes-Simplex 60 HP ‘Roi des Belges’ as the headlining lot of its Amelia Island Auctions later this month, taking place on Thursday, February 29 and Friday, March 1 at the Omni Amelia Island Resort.
