MODENA/MARNELLO (January 22, 2024) – As one era ends, another begins. After 11 years of goals that have altered the history of ocean navigation and more than two hundred thousand miles covered, the collaboration between Giovanni Soldini and Maserati—an exciting partnership highlighted by the Maserati Multi70 trimaran, which brought foiling technology to the ocean—has come to an end. Meanwhile, in the Company’s continuous pursuit of technological expertise, Ferrari is embarking on a new venture. The Prancing Horse is preparing to compete in the world of sailing and has turned to Soldini to serve as Team Principal.
“We are about to embark on an exciting journey that will expand our racing soul. With this new competitive challenge, motivated by our innovative capacity and commitment to sustainability, we will push beyond current boundaries. We are happy to be able to count on Giovanni, who is extraordinary in terms of experience, determination and team spirit.”
John Elkann, Chairman of Ferrari
This unique project will see the Maranello-based company utilize cutting-edge technologies throughout the entire cycle, from conception and engineering to realization. The search for maximum performance at sea will generate innovations and concrete solutions for sustainability that, in line with Ferrari’s tradition, will be an important stimulus in the evolution of its sports cars.
“It has been an exciting, adventurous experience full of discoveries, conquests, innovations and flights over the ocean. With the invaluable support of Maserati, it has been possible to experiment at the highest level and go further with feats and results that we are proud of. I would like to thank the Maserati team and all the partners who have accompanied us on this journey of over two hundred thousand miles. Lastly, a special thanks to all the people on the crew who over these years have contributed with passion and competence to achieve beautiful and important goals with me.”
