CARMEL, Calif. (August 18, 2023) – A 1956 Ferrari Superamerica “Superfast” was announced as “Best of Show” at the 2023 The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering held on the golf course of the renowned Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel, California. Owned by Anne Brockinton Lee, the Ferrari was selected from more than 200 entrants and inducted into the Rolex Circle of Champions, capping off the 20th annual automotive garden party and one of Monterey Car Week’s most exclusive and luxurious events.
The 1956 Ferrari 410 Superamerica “Superfast 1” is fresh out of a multi-year restoration that was truly a team effort. Chassis 0483SA has a one-off body sporting futuristic tail fins and a one-off engine, making it a true one-of-one example. The only 410 Superamerica with a 4.9-liter Lampredi V12 engine with twin ignition and 24 spark plugs, it is suggested the engine was used for development of the long-distance Ferrari racing 410 Sports. It is one of just four special-bodied prototypes for the 410 Superamerica and the only 410 Superamerica prototype by Pininfarina.
