COLUMBIA, Md. (March 18, 2025) – After using a 964-generation Porsche 911 Carrera 4 to educate members with technical articles and videos, Porsche Club of America is now auctioning off the final project, named appropriately Projekt964.
Projekt964 started with a 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 donated by PCA member Philip Cerniglia. Finished in Guards Red over a beige interior, it came with a partial leather interior but no sunroof. It was equipped with 16″ Design 90 wheels, five-speed transmission, air conditioning, and aftermarket radio. By member vote, it was then modified in the spirit of an RS build. Work performed included windshield replacement and rust repair, suspension replacement, Pirelli P Zero tires mounted on 18″ HRE Classic 305 FMR-X wheels, ride height adjustment and alignment, Porsche Classic Communication Management Radio with navigation and Apple Car Play, speaker replacement, Recaro Pole Position seats with Tattersall plaid cloth inserts, new fuel lines and fuel tank, underbody dry ice cleaning, paint correction and ceramic coating, 964 Turbo brakes and rotors as well as 993 rear calipers and rotors, and recharging the factory air conditioning. All parts have been retained should the winning bidder elect to return it to factory spec.
Projekt964 made its debut at the 2021 Werks Reunion Amelia Island, where it was placed next to the PCA Store. The following day, it was displayed at the Amelia Island Cars and Coffee at the Ritz Carlton. It was also shown at the 2021 Porsche Parade in French Lick, Indiana in the Hospitality Room. Later in the year, it was shown at the PCA National Office Open House. It was also on display at the 2021 SportsCar Together Fest at the Indianapolis Speedway. In 2022, it took a back seat to the 911 Classic Club Coupe and was not shown except for a sighting at the PCA HQ Open House. In 2023, it would appear again at Werks Reunion as well as the Amelia Island Cars and Coffee.
Its mission complete, Prokekt964 is now being auctioned on Bring a Trailer through the Avante-Garde Collection, owned by PCA member Matt Crandall. The winning bidder must be a member of the PCA. If not already a member the selling dealer will assist the buyer in joining the club. Membership is $56/yr and includes a 12-month subscription to the club’s award-winning magazine, Porsche Panorama.
