WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. (July 13, 2024) – As MINI owners from across the United States get ready to hit the road for the biennial MINI TAKES THE STATES owners rally, MINI USA is bringing the new MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S 4-door along for the ride, with their North American debut happening at the Rise & Rally kickoff event at Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Embodying the brand’s signature fun-to-drive character, with more space and functionality, the MINI Cooper S 4-door will then join the thousands of MINI owners along the route from Albuquerque, N.M., all the way to Seattle, Wash.
The next-generation five-seater brings a futuristic flair unique in its category, with a combination of the traditional and modern, and purist styling coupled with innovative assistance systems. While their physical dimensions closely resemble their predecessors, the MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S 4-door find new ways to maximize space while keeping a low profile.
Short overhangs, clean surfaces and expressive accents lend them their unmistakable charisma, while inside, digital innovations and an immersive user experience take the MINI DNA to a new level.
In the rear of the new MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S 4-door, a noticeably wider interior provides comfortable space for three passengers. The 60:40 folding rear seats also increase the luggage compartment capacity from 9.71 cubic feet to up to 32.66 cubic feet.
And while in a larger body than their more traditional 2-door counterparts, these models emphasizes agility, quickness and fun on the road. Two efficient internal combustion engines paired with a modern chassis and precise steering deliver the same go-kart feeling MINI owners know and love.
From its ability to pack more than a week’s worth of road tripping equipment, to its zippy performance across highways and winding mountain roads alike, MINI TAKES THE STATES 2024 makes for the ideal North American proving ground for the new MINI Cooper S 4-door. Before they take on hundreds of miles of the western United States, the estimated 3,000 participants of the owner rally will get a unique opportunity to witness the future of the new MINI family.
“Many of our most loyal ‘MINIacs’ will be driving across the country with us all week, and we couldn’t help but give them a first look at the newest member of the MINI family. This is truly the perfect setting to get our owners excited about the debut of the new MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S 4-door.”
Mike Peyton, Vice President, MINI of the Americas
On the customization front, the new MINI Cooper S 4-door will have 10 color choices available in the U.S. For the roof, customers can choose from body color, black, white or a blue multi-tone roof with a gradual color gradient based on trims and styles chosen. The different color tones highlight different features of the car and showcase the new MINI design language in a variety of ways.
Three styling packages will also be available to U.S. customers: Classic, Favoured and JCW. With the Classic Style, the roof is available in body color, black or white. The Favoured Style gives the front radiator grill frame and other design elements a Vibrant Silver finish, as well as the option for a unique blue multitone roof with a color gradient blending Glazed White with Indigo Sunset Blue and San Marino Blue. The JCW Style emphasizes the sporty side of the MINI Cooper S 4-door with design features including the JCW Aero Kit with striking front and rear diffusers, high gloss black wheel spats, a set of gloss black brake calipers with JCW logos, a unique radiator grill surround and high-gloss black JCW logos. A JCW interior, and roof spoiler add to the sporty appearance and allude to MINI’s motorsport heritage.
