AUSTIN, Texas (October 23, 2024) – Continuing the celebration of 130 years in motorsports, Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) hosted an exciting two-day Race Day experience in downtown Austin, Texas during the 2024 United States Grand Prix weekend. The iconic Jo’s Coffee on South Congress Avenue was transformed into a vibrant pit stop, drawing in F1 enthusiasts, customers, and special guests, including notable attendees like local DJ Confucius Jones and Mercedes-Benz brand ambassadors Jessica Hart & James Kirkham. This Race Day experience follows the successful launch of the inaugural Race Day watch party at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta during the 2024 Canadian Grand Prix, continuing MBUSA’s commitment to engaging fans in exciting ways.

Saturday morning, attendees were treated to a surprise appearance by Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team Junior Driver Kimi Antonelli, who joined in the festivities and engaged with fans. Kimi will join the driver lineup next season and is the second to graduate the team’s junior program after teammate George Russell.

“It’s been awesome to be here at the Mercedes-Benz Race Day experience in Austin. Celebrating such a significant milestone for Mercedes-Benz with the local F1 fans here in Texas has been brilliant; their energy and passion has been so cool to see. As a member of the team’s junior program, I’ve learnt so much about the incredible history of Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG. Being here to mark that is an honor and I can’t wait to see the support for myself and the team here next year when I am on the grid as a fully-fledged race driver.”

All proceeds from the raffle benefited Mercedes-Benz’s nonprofit partner, Safe Kids Worldwide. Guests also enjoyed interactive experiences, including Formula 1 simulators.

“This Race Day experience is a testament to our ongoing celebration of 130 years in motorsport. The legacy of Mercedes-Benz in racing is profound, and after our success with Race Day in Atlanta, it was exciting to bring our passion for the sport to life in Austin, uniting F1 fans in a truly immersive way.”
