ATLANTA (October 4, 2024) – Today, Mercedes-Benz entities in the United States announced a donation of $500,000 to the American Red Cross to support disaster relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Helene. This contribution underscores a steadfast commitment from Mercedes-Benz to positively impact communities where U.S. facilities and operations are located and where employees, dealers and customers live and work.
The funds will help the American Red Cross provide essential services such as shelter, food and emergency assistance to individuals and families across the Southeast affected by Hurricane Helene. Support from Mercedes-Benz will help the disaster relief organization remain focused on meeting the urgent needs of Hurricane Helene victims and help facilitate long-term recovery.
Hurricane Helene made landfall in the U.S. as a Category 4 storm causing catastrophic damage and widespread power outages across several Southeast states, including Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Kentucky, South Carolina and Tennessee. The storm has resulted in significant loss of life and is impacting millions, according to the Red Cross.
