GOODWOOD, U.K. (March 19, 2025) – Jenson Button, 2009 Formula 1 World Champion and current FIA World Endurance Championship driver, will return to this year’s Goodwood Revival to race his 1962 Jaguar E-Type in the Royal Automobile Club (RAC) TT Celebration.

The race, which is for the fastest and most iconic grand touring cars from Goodwood’s golden era, which hosted the RAC TT from 1960 to 1964, will see Button return to the grid in pursuit of victory since he last competed at the Revival in 2022.

Formerly raced by BRDC life member Ed Nelson in the 1965-66 season at the Nürburgring and Mugello, the 1962 model is the last of the famous Protheroe-prepared Jaguars. Having raced throughout the early 2000s, the CUT 8 ex-Protheroe last competed in the Revival’s RAC TT in 2013 with a different owner.

Button made his historic racing debut at the 2021 Revival behind the wheel of a 1962 Jaguar E-Type in the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy, so it’s only fitting that he will once again drive an E-Type as he battles for the coveted RAC TT Trophy.

“I am delighted to be coming back to the Goodwood Revival in September, for the most enjoyable weekend of racing of the whole year. In fact, I love it so much, I have bought my own car to take part! I am very excited to be racing my ‘new’ Jaguar E-type in the TT. I can’t wait.”

Jenson Button, Former Formula 1 World Champion

“The TT is a firm favourite amongst our competitors and spectators, so I’m sure everyone will share my excitement that Jenson has bought his very own Jaguar E-Type to compete in this year. I look forward to seeing him in action!”
