Subaru of America, Inc. today announced that the 2023 Subaru BRZ was awarded a place on Car and Driver’s annual 10Best list for the second consecutive year.
Car and Driver awarded BRZ for embracing the concept of “enough”, drawing attention to the space left unfilled by extra pounds and a daunting monthly payment.
“The car is utterly wonderful – it’s light, sharp, unfiltered, and inexpensive, states Car and Driver. “Long may it remain so. We don’t need anything more.”
The 10Best Cars nominees consist of all-new vehicles, 2022 10Best winners, cars that were not available for the 2022 competition and those with significant updates. All must fall under the base-price cap of $110,000 and be on sale no later than January 31, 2023. After a week of driving every new car that meets those criteria, the editors voted on a scale from zero to 100, discarded the high and low votes, and averaged the remaining scores to arrive at the 10Best Cars of 2023.
“Car and Driver is a legendary automotive publication, and we are honored that their experts again recognized the performance and value of the second generation BRZ,” said Thomas J. Doll, President and CEO, Subaru of America, Inc. “This accolade helps solidify our goal of providing customers with a pure sports car embedded with Subaru DNA.”
The 2023 BRZ is powered by a 2.4-liter (naturally aspirated) 228 hp SUBARU BOXER® engine paired with a six-speed close-ratio manual transmission or a six-speed electronic direct-control automatic transmission. Available now at Subaru retailers nationwide, the second-generation BRZ is offered in two trim levels, Premium and Limited, and has a starting price of $28,595.
Full coverage of the Car and Driver 10Best Cars can be found in the January issue, available everywhere by December 27, and online at CarandDriver.com.
