Hagerty Drivers Foundation “Cars at the Capital” Exhibit Showcases Amelia Earhart’s Cord and a Porsche America Roadster

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (Aug. 22, 2023) — The Hagerty Drivers Foundation is hosting its annual “Cars at the Capital” exhibition on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. from August 31 – September 11. The 33rd and 34th vehicles to be added to the National Historic Vehicle Register – a 1937 Cord 812 Convertible Phaeton Sedan Chassis No. 1714 and a 1952 Porsche America Roadster (Type 540) – will be displayed in a beautifully lit glass enclosure between the Smithsonian National Museum of American History and the United States Department of Agriculture. This free, pop-up exhibit is put on by the Foundation each year to educate the general public about the cultural significance of the automobile and its role in shaping modern society. Sally Carrera and Lightning McQueen to Reunite at Rennsport Reunion 7

ATLANTA (August 24, 2023) – The stars of Disney and Pixar’s Cars are to reunite at Rennsport Reunion 7 between September 28th and October 1st at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The full size Sally Carrera and Lightning McQueen now call the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart and the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles their respective homes. ATLANT (August 1, 2023) – To mark the special anniversary of the iconic 911 sports car, the engineers in Weissach have designed a sports car dedicated to driving enjoyment in its purest form: the 2024 Porsche 911 S/T. The exclusive anniversary model unites the strengths of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package and the 911 GT3 RS and delivers a unique combination of agility and driving dynamics. It combines the naturally aspirated, 518 hp 4.0-liter boxer engine from the 911 GT3 RS with a close-ratio manual transmission. This is complemented by lightweight construction and a chassis setup optimized for agility and drivability. The 911 S/T weighs just 3,056 lbs., making it the lightest model of the 992 generation. 300 Cars Will Take to the Track at Porsche Rennsport Reunion 7

ATLANTA (July 26, 2023) ― Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) unveiled a schedule of activities for the on-track action for Porsche Rennsport Reunion 7. The world’s largest gathering of Porsche enthusiasts will enjoy eight classes of legendary Porsche race cars spanning seven decades. The September 28 – October 1 event, held at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, will celebrate iconic racers from the past, through to the cutting edge of today, including the German marque’s most current international prototype racer, the 963, as well as be the site of rounds 13 and 14 of the Porsche Deluxe Carrera Cup North America featuring the mighty 911 GT3 Cup car. New Manthey Kit Optimizes Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Track Performance

ATLANTA (July 13, 2023) – Porsche today announced a Manthey Kit for the 718 Cayman GT4 RS that is specially optimized for use on race tracks. The 493 hp GT4 RS with the Manthey Kit completed a lap at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:03.121 minutes. This makes it over six seconds quicker than the 718 Cayman GT4 RS without the upgrade kit. The modifications focus on aerodynamics and chassis components. Brake pads designed for the track are available as an option. The new kit was developed especially for track days and in close collaboration between engineers at Porsche Motorsport and the Nordschleife specialists at Manthey. Continue reading
