ATLANTA (December 17, 2024) – In the early 1970s, Porsche took the leap into turbo technology. First in motorsport, then in series production. Porsche took global victories with this revolutionary technology, and 17 of the 19 overall victories at Le Mans were achieved with turbo engines. Transferring concepts that have been successfully tested in motorsport to series production is a tradition at Porsche. On October 3, 1974, Porsche presented a series production version of the 911 Turbo at the Paris Motor Show. Fifty years and eight 911 Turbo generations later, the sports car manufacturer is publishing a four-part series of ‘Porsche Heritage Moments’ to Porsche YouTube channel in celebration of the anniversary.

Timo Bernhard, Le Mans winner and long-distance world champion, guides viewers through the episodes, shows off selected Porsche sports cars and invites guests to share stories. For instance, viewers can listen to stories from: Thomas Krickelberg, Project Manager Operating Excellence Series 911/718, Norbert Singer, former racing engineer, Frank Jung, Head of Corporate Archives, Hermann Burst, former Head of Bodywork Testing and Walter Röhrl, two-time World Rally Champion and Porsche brand ambassador.

Episode 1: ‘Turbo in motorsport – the basis for the first 911 Turbo’
Timo Bernhard hosts a very special guest for the first episode of ‘Porsche Heritage Moments’: Norbert Singer. A meeting between Bernhard and the former racing engineer always feels like a journey into the past. The pair start by looking back to the summer of 1970 with the victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans: the first for Porsche. Shortly thereafter, the company became more involved in CanAm and used an engine with an exhaust turbocharger there. The decision to eschew a 16-cylinder naturally aspirated engine and opt for a 12-cylinder turbo engine was quick and easy, as the latter can mobilize a 4.5-liter turbo engine up to 625 kW (850 PS) at the drop of a hat. “To put it simply, we increased the boost pressure and gained more power potential. In the early 1970s, the turbo was the most promising way to the future in motorsport,” explains Singer, who was involved in 16 out of a total of 19 Porsche overall victories at Le Mans.

Together with Bernhard, the former racing engineer talks about the special features of the Porsche 917/30, which was built in 1972 and served as a test car for CanAm. The enhanced turbo engine delivers 735 kW (1,000 PS) from 5.0 liters of displacement. Singer also reveals some of the special features of the racecar in the episode which is just under one hour long. “To make it easier to control this very agile car, we were able to use 10-, 20- or 30-centimeter spacers to vary the wheelbase,” explains Singer. Another model that he and Bernhard then turn to in the episode is the Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Turbo 2.1 from 1974; the first race car with a turbocharger and charge-air cooler at Le Mans.

To round off, the two talk about the Porsche 936 Spyder, developed for the World Sportscar Championship. In 1976, Porsche achieved the first overall victory of a turbo engine at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the two-seater and won the World Sportscar Championship in the same year. One year later, Porsche returned to Le Mans with a 936 Spyder and bi-turbo technology – and brought home the fourth overall victory to Zuffenhausen. Bernhard and Singer have a Porsche 936/78 Spyder to illustrate their points. The 700-kg race car has a 2.1-liter engine with turbocharger and charge-air cooler.

Episode 2: ‘The start of series production – the result of a tried-and-tested concept’
Bernhard meets another member of the original turbo team for the second episode of ‘Porsche Heritage Moments’: Hermann Burst. In 1969, the now 84-year-old began working under Peter Falk as an aerodynamics engineer in the racing department. He later worked as the Head of Bodywork Testing. Working together with his team in the early 1970s, he focused on reducing aerodynamic lift in the 911. The result was the rear spoiler of the 911 Carrera RS 2.7, which quickly earned the nickname ‘ducktail’. After this, Burst continued to work on shapes that matched the basic body of a 911, that blended in harmoniously yet were immediately recognizable as a new evolutionary stage of an existing 911 body. In 1974, Porsche presented the 911 Carrera RS 3.0. At the rear, it carried their new innovation the ‘ducktail’, a rear spoiler, later referred to as the ‘whale tail’.

Bernhard and Burst discuss the beginnings of the turbo in series production in the approximately hour-long episode. To do this, they take a closer look at the 911 Turbo ’no. 1’ and 911 Turbo 3.0 Coupé models.

The first 911 Turbo was a present to Louise Piëch on her 70th birthday. On August 29, 1974, Ferry Porsche’s sister was gifted the one-off car, which had a narrow body and a 2.7-liter engine. He approved the green coupé from 1976 himself. “Our goal in the 911 was always to keep rear axle lift low. We achieved this through the various spoiler configurations that have been created over many generations. This meant that the original idea of the 911 body shape, which is timeless, can still be upheld to this day,” summarized Burst. When asked about his favorite 911 Turbo model, he answered: “For me, the 964-generation 911 Turbo is the culmination of all the technical objectives we have pursued so far over two decades. Galvanized bodywork, automatic heating and climate control, aerodynamics – from a purely technical perspective, it’s my favorite.”

Burst then goes on to talk about the ‘controlled explosion’ also referring to the 50-year-old advertising slogan for the Turbo: “Exclusive. Explosive. Expensive.” The Turbo is the highest possible increase in performance according to Burst. “I like the explosiveness that is so characteristic of the early Turbo models. I was always able to handle it well,” says Burst, laughing and adding a few anecdotes, which you can watch in the episode.

Episode 3: ‘The Turbo in new spheres – water cooling’
In the third part of ‘Porsche Heritage Moments’ on the ’50 Years of Porsche Turbo’ anniversary, Timo Bernhard meets two men in whose lives the 911 has always played a major role: Walter Röhrl and Thomas Krickelberg. The latter started in the Racing Engine Development and Engine Research department in 1990 at Porsche AG and is now working as the Project Manager Operating Excellence for the 911/718 series. Together with the two-time World Rally Champion and Porsche brand ambassador, the trio discuss the topic of ‘Turbo in new spheres’ – specifically the issue of water cooling, illustrated by the 996 generation Porsche 911 Turbo S, which Porsche presented 20 years ago. The 996 generation Turbo is the first 911 to be powered by a water-cooled, four-valve, six-cylinder boxer engine. Another new feature: For the first time, it was equipped with a five-speed Triptonic S transmission as an option. “One of the secrets behind the success of the 911 series is the consistent technical evolution that constantly brings the 911 Turbo closer to the ideal sports car from generation to generation,” says Krickelberg. Röhrl bought his first Turbo more than 45 years ago. “Driving a Turbo is and has always been the ultimate dream,” said Röhrl. “I maintain that to this day. When I hear ‘Turbo’, I immediately think of dynamics, precision and release of power.”

Episode 4: ‘Turbo – Beyond Performance’
In the fourth and final part of ‘Porsche Heritage Moments’, the host talks to Thomas Krickelberg and Frank Jung about what ‘Beyond Performance’ means in connection with the 50th anniversary of the Turbo. The conversation goes into detail about iconic design, Porsche DNA, dynamics and day-to-day usability. In this episode, they look at a 997-generation Porsche 911 GT2 and the 911 Turbo 50-year anniversary model. The 911 GT2 is an example of going beyond the ordinary and mastering challenges. In addition to bi-turbocharging, it also featured Variable Turbine Geometry, VTG for short. Krickelberg, who was one of those responsible for VTG, goes a step further back in time: “The 997 generation 911 Turbo was a milestone in the Porsche’s history with the turbo. When it was launched in 2006, it was the first series production car with a gasoline engine to feature VTG. With this technology, the ‘turbo hole’ was a thing of the past.” The 997 generation 911 GT2 is rear-wheel-drive and is roughly 319 lbs. lighter than the 911 Turbo. With 530 hp, the sports car produced in 2007 is the most powerful 911 of its time.

Bernhard, Jung and Krickelberg take a leap into the present with the 911 Turbo 50-year anniversary model. The standard side vinyl graphics are a nod to the historic livery of the Porsche 911 RSR Turbo presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1973, as a study of the 911 Turbo. At the same time, it uses a number of details to showcase the grey-tone Turbonite, which is now reserved exclusively for the Turbo models, including the model logo, the fuel cap fastener and the Porsche crest. The Turbonite color is also used to create contrasting highlights inside the car. An aluminum anniversary badge is affixed above the glove compartment, which includes the ‘turbo 50’ logo and the limited edition number of the sports car. “In my opinion, the most distinctive feature in the interior of the limited-edition model is the plaid pattern. When it was launched in 1974, there were three different tartan designs that were reserved exclusively for the Turbo until 1976,” says Jung about the iconic pattern and the tribute to the early Porsche 911 Turbo. Finally, the Head of Corporate Archives shares what ‘Turbo’ means to him: “When you look at the history of Porsche, you have to look at ‘Turbo’. A Turbo was and always will be the pinnacle of the series. ‘Turbo’ has long since become a brand concept rather than just a technology.”

STUTTGART/OHLSDORF (December 12, 2024) – Porsche’s cooperation with Austrian-based Frauscher Shipyard goes into the next round: After the open day cruiser 850 Fantom Air, the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom now comes as a classic runabout with a closed foredeck and cabin. The new sports boat also features the all-electric drive unit from the Porsche Macan Turbo.

Porsche is committed to being a leader in sustainable mobility, and an ambition that is not limited to racing and road cars alone. Together with the renowned Frauscher Shipyard in Austria, the sports car manufacturer has developed an electric boat that is also intended to impress on the water with its quintessential Porsche E-Performance – now in two different versions. While two-door Porsche sports cars are available as coupés and convertibles, among other variants, Frauscher offers a choice between the Runabout and the Air – in other words, between a closed foredeck, a classic look, a cabin under the bow and a center helm with seating and lounging options on the bow as well. After the open eFantom, which was named the best electric boat in November 2024 in the prestigious Best of Boats Award, the closed version Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom is now also available as part of the limited First Edition of 25 units.

“Like our sports cars, the eFantom offers an exclusive experience and extraordinary performance. As an elegant day cruiser with an innovative, powerful drive system, she sets new standards in the maritime world. We are continuing along this path together with Frauscher and the new 850 Fantom.”

Lutz Meschke, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board and Board Member for Finance and IT at Porsche AG

All-electric drive unit from the Porsche Macan Turbo
Both 8.67-meter long and 2.49-meter wide electric boats boast impressive acceleration, abundant thrust, confident performance, timeless design and luxurious equipment. All attributes that also apply in equal measure to the Porsche Macan, which was launched with the aim of being the sportiest model in its segment and which served as the source of the drive unit in the eFantom. For the technology transfer from the road to the water, Porsche has deployed the most powerful variant of the all-electric SUV – the rear-axle engine of the Macan Turbo.

In the boat, the permanently excited synchronous motor can deliver up to 400 kW. It sits in the hull of the boat and is directly controlled via a Z-drive. The control units are housed in a waterproof box emblazoned with the Porsche logo. The efficiency of the motor is optimized by state-of-the-art power electronics and the use of silicon carbide in the pulse inverter enables particularly high switching frequencies. The high-voltage battery with a gross capacity of 100 kWh also comes from the Macan. The wire-rope mount suspension absorbs the immense shocks that inevitably occur in waves and at high speeds.

Individual design options like in a Porsche sports car
The new 850 Fantom has space for up to seven passengers. The swimming platform at the rear leads to a generous lounge area with comfortable sunbathing pads. Studio F. A. Porsche in Zell am See and Style Porsche in Weissach played a major role in the design of the cockpit. Here you will find the steering wheel and the seats in the characteristic sports car design – including the Porsche Crest on the headrests. In the cabin, spacious seating and lounging areas invite visitors to linger. As with sports cars from Porsche, customisation also plays a major role in boats from Frauscher. Both the upholstery in the cabin and the hull and deck can be selected according to personal preferences. The first Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom is painted in the Porsche color Oakgreen Metallic Neo and equipped with padding in Truffle Brown with stitching package 930 in Orange. It will celebrate its world premiere in January 2025 at “boot Düsseldorf”, the largest indoor water sports fair in the world.

BRESCIA (December 6, 2024) – A driving experience through desert and rocky canyons, but also through the futuristic tentacles of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharja and Fujairah. This and much more was the 1000 Miglia Experience UAE, an event organized by Octanium Experiences under license from 1000 Miglia, which proposed for the third year running a winning combination of the 1000 Miglia Style and a tailor-made format enhancing the special features of the area.

The victory went to Roland Hotz and Giordano Mozzi in the modern 2017 Porsche 911 GT STREET R: this was the third triumph in a row in the Emirates for the Italian in the role of navigator. Second on the Abu Dhabi podium was the Saudi Arabian crew of Adnan Nouh and Zyad Al Arfaj, competing in a 1975 911 Carrera MFI. Third were Jeffrey Gault and Raffaele Conti in their 1955 Jaguar XK 140.

On Monday, 2 December, National Day for the 53rd anniversary of the union of the Arab Emirates, the 90 participating crews set off from the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai and finished the leg at the artificial archipelago of Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, home to world-class hotels and resorts, ultra-modern leisure facilities and beautiful natural attractions, including almost 8 kilometers of pristine sandy beaches. The second leg was the ascent to the almost 2000-metre Jabel Jais Mounain, with an Average Trial and lunch at altitude at the highest point reachable in the seven Emirates. Wednesday 4 December was the turn of the Khawr Fakkan area, followed by a pleasant descent along the coast of the Emirate of Fujairah. Reaching the hinterland again, the participants enjoyed a convivial experience in a typical Bedouin setting having lunch in the desert, before returning to Fujairah to end the leg. On the fourth and final day of the race, after a lap around the Dubai Autodrome, the crews crossed the final finish line at the foot of the Ethiad Towers in Abu Dhabi. This was followed by the prize-giving ceremony overlooking the sea.

Few, if any, other cars bring more pure motorsport technology to the road than the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The new Manthey Kit can further enhance the on-track performance of this top-of-the-range sports car through improved aerodynamic efficiency, modified suspension and optimized braking components.

Porsche is offering a Manthey Kit for the current 911 GT3 RS (992) for even higher performance on track. The kit provides significantly increased contact pressure and, as a result, higher cornering speeds. The suspension has been specially adapted for driving on the racetrack, while the brakes are optimized for the particularly high demands of track-day driving. The new Manthey Kit was developed as part of a close collaboration between the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach and the Manthey engineers in Meuspath. These track-focused components will be distributed via Porsche Centers.

More than a ton of downforce at 285 km/h
The extensive changes to the aerodynamic components make the Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 RS immediately recognizable. The spoiler lip with its new wing profile has been significantly enlarged and is supported by reinforcing elements made of carbon fiber. Together with redesigned wheel arch Gurney flaps and two dive planes on each side of the front bumper, the spoiler lip increases downforce on the front axle. The rear window is replaced by a 25-per-cent lighter carbon fibre panel on which a carbon fibre shark fin is mounted. The fin was derived from the World Sportscar Championship-winning 963 and is designed to increase cornering stability. In conjunction with six additional roof fins, it also diverts the warm output air from the front radiator outwards, thus ensuring that cooler intake air is drawn in at the rear, even under extreme operating conditions.

The split carbon fiber DRS wing element – in conjunction with larger, redesigned end plates – increases downforce on the rear axle. The significantly widened rear diffuser with longer carbon fiber fins also increases downforce without increasing air resistance. The carbon fiber ‘aerodisc’ wheel covers reduce air resistance and make the perfect addition to the combination of aerodynamic components, which work seamlessly to optimize air flow and maximize overall efficiency. Overall, the downforce has been increased significantly, without increasing drag. At 285 km/h, the 911 GT3 RS with Manthey Kit produces more than 1,000 kg of downforce. This enables higher speeds on fast and medium-speed corners and maximizes vehicle stability.

Semi-active coilover suspension
The spring rates of the semi-active coilover suspension have been adjusted for the higher downforce figures. The spring rates were increased by 30 per cent on the front axle and by 15 per cent on the rear. Four wheel- and three body-acceleration sensors – along with a newly developed control unit – ensure fully automatic damper tuning that is extremely fast and even more precise than before. The new shock absorbers operate with two separate valves for the compression and rebound stages and are independently controlled. This ensures precise adjustment for changing driving situations and road conditions, which maximizes stability on the racetrack. Depending on the driving mode (Normal, Sport, Track), different sets of parameters are available for different basic damper characteristics. In Track mode, the basic setup can also be manually adjusted to your personal preferences using the rotary controls on the steering wheel.

Racing brake pads specially optimized for track days
The braking components of the Manthey Kit are tailored to the requirements of driving on the racetrack. The steel-sheathed brake lines provide an even more direct pedal feel and a faster response time. Optional racing brake pads are available for cars with the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB). These pads have been specially developed for track-day use and reduce fading while also increasing responsiveness and control precision. The brake pads are characterized by consistent performance over a wide temperature range and very good wear resistance for both the pads themselves as well as the discs.

Extensive accessories enhance individuality
Customers wishing to add more visual touches can customize their 911 GT3 RS with particularly sporty accessories. Illuminated door sill guards in carbon fibre with Manthey lettering in red and white, LED door projectors with white Manthey lettering, and decals in various colors on the carbon ‘aerodiscs’ emphasize the distinct character of the 911 GT3 RS. In addition, the Manthey lettering can be applied to the car doors in either Neodyme, white or black. A towing eye is available for when driving on the racetrack, and can be used on the front or rear. It is available in red, black or yellow and can be attached to either end using the appropriate threaded hole. It must be removed if the car is to be used on public roads.

Significantly improved performance on track

“With the Manthey Kit, the 911 GT3 RS has improved significantly on the racetrack, especially on medium-speed corners. The car dives, pitches and rolls even less, offering a much more stable aerodynamic platform. The high contact pressure therefore remains very constant under all driving conditions.”

Jörg Bergmeister, Porsche Brand Ambassador

“Over a period of two years, we worked together with Porsche engineers on the new Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 RS and tested it over several thousand kilometres on European racetracks and on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Our data promises a significant improvement in lap times compared to the standard 911 GT3 RS. So far, weather conditions have prevented us from achieving an official lap time on the Nordschleife. We want to make up for this at the next possible opportunity.”

Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing GmbH

The Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 RS can be ordered now. It will be available in EU markets from January 2025 and outside the EU from March 2025. The manufacturer’s warranty for the 911 GT3 RS remains unaffected.

NEW YORK (November 21, 2024) – The New York-based fashion and lifestyle brand Aimé Leon Dore (ALD) unveils the bespoke Porsche 993 Turbo – the fifth classic model restored in its long-standing partnership with Porsche.

Renowned for its unparalleled engineering and timeless design, the Porsche 993 Turbo is hailed as one of the greatest sports cars in history. It combines the final iteration of the air-cooled engines with a powerful twin-turbo powertrain that set a new standard for performance, handling, and durability. Aimé Leon Dore’s restoration goes beyond aesthetics, delivering both a visual and technical revival of the celebrated classic.

During an intensive development process, for a sportier look, elements from the 993 Turbo S were incorporated, including the iconic Turbo S spoiler, which provides both a visual enhancement and increased downforce. Additionally, the 993 Turbo S Exhaust and Front Splitter were fitted to improve aerodynamics, elevating the car’s performance and aggressive front-end design.

The 18-inch Porsche Turbo Twist rims were finished in Mulberry Green to match the exterior, highlighted with a gold accent encircling the rims. Michelin, Porsche’s trusted tire partner known for outfitting the seven-time title-winning Porsche 963, provided 18″ Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires specifically for the 993 Turbo.

“It’s great to see the latest installment of our partnership with Aimé Leon Dore. The 993 is an iconic member of the 911 family and dream car for so many enthusiasts all around the world. ALD’s take is a wonderful way of contributing to that enduring legacy.”

Deniz Keskin, Director Brand Management and Partnerships at Porsche AG

Aimé Leon Dore’s refined design language extends to the interior, featuring dark brown leather, lambswool accents, and hardback seats. The seat backrests are painted in Mulberry Green, echoing the car’s exterior. Dark brown carpets, floor mats, seats, and instrument cluster were selected for a cohesive, monochromatic look. The steering wheel and headrests display a custom Aimé Leon Dore and Porsche logo, highlighting the long-standing partnership between the two brands. A custom brass Unisphere gear knob brings a distinctive and personal touch to the interior. The door sills also feature the inscription “A team from outta Queens with the American dream,” a nod to the brand’s roots and the inspiration behind Aimé Leon Dore’s brand.

Exclusive capsule collection with Porsche Design
Inspired by the exclusive Mulberry Green Porsche 993 Turbo, the capsule collection features a range of apparel and accessories, including the long-awaited Leather Club Jacket.

“It has been a refreshing experience to work on this capsule with the ALD team. The result is the perfect match for the car and a great way for both communities around the world to become part of this project.”

Nicola Ader, Director Marketing & PR Porsche Lifestyle Group

The capsule collection will be available on November 22nd both in-store and online at Aimé Leon Dore.

For the first time, Porsche Design of America will also offer a select range from the limited-edition capsule, available exclusively on the West Coast at the Porsche Design Store in Beverly Hills.

ATLANTA (November 21, 2024) – The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has been named Road & Track’s Performance EV of the Year in the category over $100,000. This marks the second consecutive win for a Taycan in this highly competitive event, with the Turbo S variant claiming top honors in this category last year.

“The Taycan Turbo GT was truly impressive and has taken a significant step on from its Taycan Turbo S brother, which won the award last year. What really caught our attention is that this is a practical sedan that could be used every day, but also happens to be the company’s most powerful road car ever.”

Daniel Pund, editor-in-chief at Road & Track

“We never take wins for granted, and we’re grateful to receive this award – in what is a really competitive category – from the experts at Road & Track. This independent assessment means a lot to us and is testament to the great work and care that went into developing this exciting new variant of the Taycan.”

Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America

To be eligible for the Performance EV of the Year test, each vehicle had to be substantially evolved compared with what was on sale in 2023, but not necessarily all-new. Each had to be available in the U.S. by the end of 2024, and explicitly positioned with driving enjoyment as a fundamental goal. The only criterion for judging is driver engagement. Testing by the editorial staff took place over the course of four days on roads in New York state’s Delaware River Valley and at the New York Safety Track in Harpersfield, NY. During the track portion of testing, the Taycan Turbo GT lapped the track approximately two seconds faster than its nearest competitor.

Originally launched in 2019, the Porsche Taycan underwent a comprehensive enhancement for the 2025 model year resulting in improved performance, greater range, quicker charging and increased standard equipment.

The Taycan Turbo GT is a new model that sits at the top of the model range. Developing up to 1,019 horsepower, it represents Porsche’s quickest and most powerful production car to date, reaching 60 mph in as little as 2.1 seconds when equipped with the Weissach Package.

BUDAPEST (November 19,2024) – In the world of ultra-lightweight, classic sports cars, KAMManufaktur is setting the standard. Known for its meticulous redesign and re-engineering of the classic 912, KAMM’s 912c has won the hearts of drivers, critics, and collectors across Europe, with its lightweight construction and high-performance four-cylinder engine.

Now KAMManufaktur has officially launched in the United States with the first production 912c having just been delivered to Miami, and the recent appointment of a US dealer.

The ultra-lightweight KAMM 912c captures all the magic of the classic 1960s design, further enhanced by the extensive use of carbon fiber to deliver a class leading weight of 750kg (specification dependent). Combined with its extensively re-engineered, air-cooled four-cylinder engine, based on the famous ’616’ powerplant, the KAMM 912c guarantees a fully analog, pure driving experience.

Founder Miklós “Miki” Kázmér and his team have a deep love for Porsche’s 912, often overshadowed by its famous sibling, the 911. Through careful attention to detail and a respect for tradition, Kázmér has brought the 912 back into the spotlight.

For Kázmér, bringing the 912c to the US is a full-circle moment, as it was inspired by a visit to California’s famous Petersen Museum many years ago.

“I’ve always had a passion for the 912 and the 911. But seeing the original 911R at the museum sparked my journey towards the 912c. I wanted to capture the same, designed for purpose attitude and bring it to life in, what is now, the 912c, a car created for drivers who appreciate precision and classic style.”

Miklós “Miki” Kázmér, Founder KAMManufaktur

Originally released in the US at the New York Auto Show in 1965, the Porsche 912 was known for being a usable and nimble sports car. Today, KAMManufaktur is taking that original character and elevating it, giving owners the same thrills with added craftsmanship, performance and everyday usability.

However, the 912c is more than an updated classic. Crafted in Budapest by a team of passionate experts whose experience includes Singer, Koenigsegg, and Porsche Motorsport, each 912c is based upon a classic 912 donor car, updated with lightweight carbon fibre panels that are designed and manufactured in-house, but retaining its original chassis.

Every 912c is fully bespoke, created with modern essentials that are discretely hidden for everyday comfort, behind authentic design and world-class craftsmanship.

Partnerships with iconic names such as Fusina and TracTive ensure every detail not only stays true to the original but exceeds all expectations.

Weight, regarded by drivers as the enemy of driving enjoyment, has been a major focus for Kázmér. As well as the extensive use of carbon fibre throughout the build, the windows are lightweight, scratch-proof Lexan polycarbonate and every component has been redesigned to save weight. The body is reinforced with 40mm Cro-Moly tubing to create a strong tub-like structure and there is the option of an FIA-approved roll cage for track use. This attention to weight reduction has created one of the lightest sports cars in its class – in original 912c specification, as light as 750kg.

Under the hood, KAMM has transformed the original 1.6-litre engine into a 2.0-litre powerhouse, delivering 185hp and 205Nm of torque. While it retains elements of the original 616 motor, every component has been re-engineered for power, strength and daily driver reliability.

The short-shift transmission has been designed and engineered by KAMM and connects to a Porsche hydraulic racing clutch before power is sent to a ZF limited-slip differential. AP Racing provides the impressive stopping power, while TracTive coil-over suspension balances road comfort with track-ready handling.

The interior features equally impressive attention to detail. Electronic Smiths instruments are complemented by an authentic Fusina steering wheel. Fusina, famous for its seats in the 1960s and ‘70s, has returned to manufacture a brand new signature seat designed specifically for the 912c.

Modern touches like air conditioning, wireless phone charging, and heated seats are subtly included, but don’t expect a touchscreen as KAMM is all about keeping things pure.

Finally, no KAMM 912c would be complete without its stunning, custom wheels, with some designs inspired by the iconic Porsche 917 and even a carbon hybrid option.

”The KAMM 912c is so much more than a restomod. We have taken many years to explore and re-engineer almost every element of the 912 to make it a truly bespoke product, crafted by Kamm. And while the changes are extensive, I insist upon retaining the classic looks of the original 60s car, along with a driving experience that mimics that of a 1960 thoroughbred racer.”

Miki Krázmér

Two coupé KAMM 912c models are available – the Semi-Carbon which retains some original steel bodywork, and the Full-Carbon which has full carbon fibre bodywork. A 912c Targa is also available. Each car is unique, tailored to the owner’s preferences and carefully built over 12 months, with only limited build slots available each year.

KAMM 912c Semi-Carbon €355,000. KAMM 912c Full-Carbon €395,000. KAMM 912c Targa €375,000.

KAMM has designated ZWECK as a North American sales representative and service partner. ZWECK specialises in Porsche car sales, performance and service, operating from a large facility based in Miami, Florida.

”While remaining true to the 912 philosophy,” says , “KAMM faithfully augments the original concept without compromise, using the best of modern technology. The 912c is a unique offering in the niche of resto-modified cars and has been engineered and executed to an extraordinary standard, equal in quality to the likes of Singer and Gunther Werks.”

WEISSACH, Germany (November 14, 2024) – Trends and inspirations from around the world fuel the ideas of Porsche designers. The Newsroom provides an exclusive look behind the scenes of Porsche’s design studio.

“We are aware that we build sports cars for very different cultures,” says Peter Varga, Director Exterior Design at Porsche. New design ideas and artistic influences from around the globe are therefore incorporated into the design process of every new Porsche model.

Regular creative exchanges
An important source of such inspiration is the regular creative exchanges that take place in the design studio at the Weissach Development Centre. Team members invite creative minds from around the world to these sessions, as well as presenting interesting projects themselves. “These inputs and regular exchanges – deliberately kept separate from the everyday topics of the series-production design process – are extremely important for us,” says Varga. “Direct interaction works much better than having a conversation over a screen.”

Two very different personalities recently provided inspiration for the Porsche sports cars of the future in this way: Brazilian artist Adonis Alcici and Ukrainian product designer Kateryna Sokolova. Alcici lives in the Brazilian city of São Paulo. In Weissach, he shared how he developed a passion for motorsport as a child and, as a teenager, met members of the Porsche team for the first time at a Formula One race at Interlagos. This marked the beginning of a long-standing connection: Alcici has designed art cars for Porsche that were exhibited at Miami Art Week. He also designed the helmet worn by Porsche factory driver Felipe Nasr during the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans

In Weissach, he painted a black Macan together with Porsche designers. His signature style features arrow shapes, which emphasise the proportions and great dynamism of Porsche’s racing and sports cars. “His style is incredibly relaxed and effortless,” says Varga.

Brazilian nonchalance meets German engineering expertise
Brazilian nonchalance meets German engineering expertise to precisely create the tension that Michael Mauer, Head of Style Porsche, sees as embodying a defining design principle. Three key words represent the brand identity of Porsche: focus, tension and purpose. Porsche offers iconic design. The design DNA of the sports cars is consistently evolved, thanks in part to inspirations like those from Alcici, who says “My art is about speed – and adrenaline.”

This evolution is a team effort in Weissach: designers, studio engineers, model builders and UX designers collaboratively shape the Porsche models of tomorrow. “Events like these creative exchanges help us to recognise trends early and gather important impulses from outside the automotive world,” explains Varga.

Trends have been set by the Ukrainian product designer Kateryna Sokolova, too. Sokolova presented the headphones that she designed for the musician Jean-Michel Jarre and the lights that hang in the Buddha Bar in New York when she visited the studio in Weissach. Her furniture is a highlight in extraordinary venues and architect-designed houses worldwide. During her creative exchange with the Porsche designers, Sokolova explained how she develops prototypes into design objects: starting with 100 variants, from which one ultimately prevails.

Sokolova’s inputs have inspired the designers at Porsche, for example, in the selection of new materials and surfaces for Porsche interiors. In this way, art, design and sports car manufacturing mutually enrich each other.
