Spielberg. The Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, served as the backdrop for the presentation of the winner’s car for the 2024 BMW M Award. On Thursday evening, BMW M GmbH unveiled the high-performance car that will be awarded to the fastest qualifier in MotoGP™ at the end of this season. With the all-new BMW M5, BMW M GmbH continues its over 20-year tradition of honoring the achievements of the BMW M Award winner with a prize in the form of a groundbreaking, innovative BMW M vehicle. WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. (August 15, 2024) – For the first time ever in the United States, BMW M presents the new BMW M5 Touring, a high-performance model offering a new level of utility to go with the race-bred performance, bold design, and superlative all-day comfort that are the hallmarks of an M5. The M Hybrid drivetrain produces 717 hp and 738 lb-ft to deliver intoxicating performance on road and track alike. And yet, the plug-in hybrid powertrain enables almost silent and locally emission-free driving, with a preliminary estimated range of up to 25 miles on a full charge. The unique concept of the new BMW M5 Touring is reflected in both its exterior design and its interior configuration and appointments. Prominently flared wheel arches and side skirts and the M-specific design of the front and rear aprons distinguish the BMW M5 Touring. Inside, the new M5 Touring has up to 57.6 cubic feet (estimated) of flexible load-carrying capacity for leisure activities and trips away. Continue reading

MUNICH (August 8, 2024) – With the upcoming Rocket League Season 16, the new BMW 1 Series will make a spectacular debut in the popular online video game from Epic Games. Rocket League is an action-packed car soccer game in which players try to kick a ball into the opponent’s goal using a variety of rocket-powered vehicles. Players can compete alone or in teams of up to three, using ingenious strategies and spectacular stunts to achieve victory. Before Season 16 begins, BMW and Epic Games are launching a competition and calling on the global gaming community to design a Decal for the new BMW 1 Series according to their personal wishes. The winning design of the Rocket League x BMW Decal Design Contest will then be integrated into the game as part of a mid-Season patch. Continue reading

MUNICH (June 26, 2024) – The BMW M5 is powering into a new era. With 40 years of history under its belt, the legendary high-performance sedan is entering its seventh model generation. And the executive model from BMW M GmbH now has an electrified drive system for the first time. A model-specific version of the M HYBRID system gives the new BMW M5 maximum output of 727 hp and peak system torque of 737 lb-ft (1,000 Nm). The combination of a high-revving V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology and an electric motor, plus power transfer courtesy of an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and M xDrive all-wheel drive, enables acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.5 seconds.
