Exactly 25 years after the victory of the BMW V12 LMR, the start of the BMW M Hybrid V8 in the Hypercar class marks the return of the BMW brand to the top category at the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans (FRA). The #20 BMW M Hybrid V8 will play a very special role as it competes as the 20th BMW Art Car. Designed by the internationally renowned artist Julie Mehretu, the car will be a highlight in the paddock. MUNICH (May 8, 2024) – Into the broad space between race track experience and soul-stirring road performance comes another BMW M GmbH special edition from the BMW M3 and BMW M4 range. The all-new BMW M4 CS takes the blend of attributes typically found in high-performance cars in the premium midsize segment and turns the emotional engagement dial up a few notches. Engine output increased to 405 kW/550 hp, model-specific chassis tuning and minimized weight – helped by numerous components made from carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) – bring an extra edge to the BMW M4 Coupé vehicle concept of four seats, everyday practicality, advanced equipment and exclusive design features. MUNICH/SWEDEN (April 23, 2024) – For the second year in a row, electric BMW cars dressed in the work of a Nordic artist can be seen around Stockholm. During this year’s Market Art Fair, 17-19 May, the BMW cars designed by Swedish artist Karin Westman will be used to drive guests to and from the fair. The idea for the initiative comes from the global BMW Art Car project, where famous artists have been applying their artworks on cars since 1975. For the second time, a Nordic artist has been selected and given the freedom to express their art on the BMW cars that will be used as shuttle cars during the days of the exhibition. Continue reading
